Since the 70-MW bunker-fired power plant was commissioned in 1998, CPPC has been providing power to Visayan Electric Company (VECO), especially for its peaking demands and ancillary requirements. It is one of the largest diesel-fired power plants in the island of Cebu. CPPC is an embedded plant within the VECO franchise.
Vivant owns a 40-percent equity in CPPC, which is located in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.
