1590 EC operates and maintains the 225-MW Bauang diesel-fired power plant, the largest of its kind in the country, under a lease agreement with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) which owns the plant. Vivant owns 53% of 1590 EC.
Bukidnon Power Corporation (BPC) operates a 4.8 MW bunker-fired power plant in Pangantucan, Bukidnon, supplying electricity to the First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative.
CIPC is the sole power provider in Coron and Busuanga through a contract with Busuanga Island Electric Cooperative (BISELCO). The Busuanga Power Station commenced operations in 2013 while Coron Power Station started in 2014. The bunker-fired facility in Coron has a capacity of 7.74MW while the diesel-powered generation asset in Busuanga has a capacity of 0.91MW. CIPC serves an off-grid (not connected to main transmission line) area.
Since it was established in 2008, the 246-MW coal-fired power plant of CEDC in Toledo City, Cebu has been providing baseload power to support the continued growth in the Visayas. The plant uses Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) technology to generate electricity 24/7 and to comply with government standards on environmental protection.
CEDC, in which Vivant has an 18% effective interest, is connected to NGCP.
Since the 70-MW bunker-fired power plant was commissioned in 1998, CPPC has been providing power to Visayan Electric Company (VECO), especially for its peaking demands and ancillary requirements. It is one of the largest diesel-fired power plants in the island of Cebu. CPPC is an embedded plant within the VECO franchise.
Vivant owns a 40-percent equity in CPPC, which is located in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.
COREnergy is a licensed Retail Electricity Supplier registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in October 2012.
It provides total energy solutions, which include rooftop solar energy for commercial and industrial establishments, retail electricity services and engineering consultancy services that are forward-looking and adaptable to the needs of customers.
The 47-MW bunker-fired DPI is the largest power generator in mainland Palawan with 2 power stations under separate power supply agreements with Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO). The power plant also provides ancillary services.
DPI operates in a SPUG (Small Power Utilities Group) area.
DPI is an active member of the community having many projects in health, education, enterprise development and environmental protection. DPI’s corporate social responsibility program has received various awards from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the local government of Palawan.
Vivant owns 50% of DPI, which is located in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
North Bukidnon Power Corporation (NBPC) runs a 6.2 MW bunker-diesel facility in Lantapan, Bukidnon, providing peaking power to the Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative.
The 300-MW coal-fired power plant of TVI, located in Toledo City, aims to address the increasing demand for baseload power in the Visayas grid. The plant serves the franchise area of the Visayan Electric Company (VECO) and other electric cooperatives in Cebu. The TVI plant, in which Vivant owns a 20-percent equity, commenced operations in 2019.
The Visayan Electric Company (VECO) was Vivant’s initial investment and remains the single largest asset in its portfolio.
The shares in VECO were acquired when Vivant was set up through an exchange of ownership by the Garcia-Escaño family which remains Vivant’s largest shareholders. Prior to Vivant, the family had acquired its shares in VECO in the 1920 and currently retains 34.74% of VECO’s shares after decades of shifting ownership.
Visayan Electric Company (VECO) is the second largest electric distribution utility in the Philippines and the largest outside of Metro Manila. Its franchise area includes the cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Talisay and Naga, and the municipalities of Minglanilla, San Fernando, Consolacion and Liloan. Its franchise service covers an area of about 674 km2 with an estimated population of 1.73 million.
VECO utilizes various state-of-the-art technologies in its operations to improve its efficiency and service. It uses a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system to remotely monitor and control its electric distribution assets. It also has a GIS (Geographic Information System) to map and manage its facilities.
Vivant Energy Corporation, a fully owned subsidiary of Vivant Corporation, manages the investments in energy distribution and generation, retail electricity supply and energy-related engineering solutions in Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.
VMHI has been granted a Hydropower Service Contract by the Department of Energy (DOE) to exclusively develop the site for electricity generation. The plant will tap the Malogo River, one of the six major rivers in the province, for this purpose. Vivant Energy Corporation owns 67% equity in VMHI. Its partner is Fifth Gen Silay Corporation.
