VIVANT DEPLOYS WATER TANKS TO TYPHOON-STRICKEN AREAS, DISTRIBUTES RELIEF PACKS

To help address the water shortage in areas severely affected by Typhoon Tino across the province of Cebu, Vivant Water and Vivant Foundation mobilized tankers carrying desalinated water from its Isla Mactan Desalination Plant for distribution in Cebu City, Lapu Lapu City, Danao City, Liloan, Talisay and Mandaue City.

The severe flooding and landslides brought about by Typhoon Tino damaged critical pipelines, wellfields, and water transmission infrastructure throughout the province. In addition, widespread power outages disrupted pumping operations of water utilities, leading to significant water shortages in many areas of Cebu.

The delivery and distribution of water to these affected communities were made possible through the coordinated efforts of local government units, the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers – Cebu Chapter, Cebu Mandaue Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Inc., Cebu Provincial Government and longtime Vivant partner, Treasure Island Packaging Corporation (iPak).

Vivant Foundation has also distributed relief packs in the following areas: Cebu City, Consolacion, Toledo, Asturias, and Daanbantayan.
